The food there may be tired, but so are diners in Pasadena!kevinEatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13874030588556187843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667271330300336985.post-81665877508539067782011-03-06T21:49:35.188-08:002011-03-06T21:49:35.188-08:00that snapper dish looks pretty legit, how is his o...that snapper dish looks pretty legit, how is his other restaurant doing?djhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15684669713013594079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667271330300336985.post-69610955457849895012011-03-05T01:25:39.445-08:002011-03-05T01:25:39.445-08:00Darin: Yeah it's a nice place, but sort of kee...Darin: Yeah it's a nice place, but sort of keeps a low profile. Hell I didn't even think to go until I had to come up with a reasonably-priced restaurant not too far from UCLA.

Charlie: That was my sentiment concerning Shiro as well. Perhaps Yamashiro is focusing his efforts here now.

Anon: Totally agree about the spacing--I was way too close to the person table beside me. Interestingly, the bar was surprisingly empty though. I'm familiar with the hearts of romaine dish, but it was curiously absent from the menu.kevinEatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13874030588556187843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667271330300336985.post-49810008585855905612011-03-04T14:23:07.717-08:002011-03-04T14:23:07.717-08:00I was a regular here for years(before I moved to V...I was a regular here for years(before I moved to Ventura) and it never disappointed. Only complaint is that the tables are toooo close together and are small themselves. I always sit at the bar which makes for a better dining experience.

Did not see the grilled romaine on the menu. One of their best dishes. Did they take it off?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667271330300336985.post-45824233059305570952011-03-04T09:12:20.995-08:002011-03-04T09:12:20.995-08:00this place looks 1000x better than Shiro in So. Fortunately they are in Pasadena where almost every restaurant (outside of the Raymond/Royce) thinks "high end" means a meat, veggies with a wine reduction sauce.Charlie Fuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10131445271942007453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667271330300336985.post-55004584147045968872011-03-04T08:31:08.128-08:002011-03-04T08:31:08.128-08:00Looks like some good stuff here!
